JUAB COUNTY, Utah — The Central Utah Agri-Park, developed by the Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA), marked its first anniversary on September 12, 2025, showcasing a year of strategic developments and economic partnerships aimed at enhancing the region’s agricultural infrastructure and economic resilience.
While the project area is located in Juab County, it is supported by multiple counties, including Sanpete, Juab, Wayne, Millard, Piute, and Sevier, and integrates Juab County’s crucial rail and highway infrastructure to facilitate the efficient transport of agricultural products from the entire region..
Significant developments over the past year include the promotion of the Currant Creek Industrial Park and the Nortonville Rail Site. These areas have been positioned as key economic development sites within the Agri-Park, with ongoing marketing efforts led by UIPA in collaboration with Juab County commissioners and economic development authorities.
Additionally, UIPA is exploring the use of electricity from the Currant Creek power plant for future projects, aligning with sustainable development goals.
Shaun Kjar, director of the Agri-Park with the R6 Regional Council, and Danny Stewart, UIPA’s Associate Vice President over the project area, attended the Indoor Agtech Innovation Summit in Chicago. They explored controlled environment agriculture and discussed the project with potential partners and investors.
UIPA is also considering an amendment to the project area to include properties that could support the expansion of the Ash Grove cement operation in Western Juab County. This expansion would align with the region’s economic development strategy.
As the Central Utah Agri-Park enters its second year, UIPA continues to focus on leveraging the area’s strategic location and resources to support Utah’s agricultural sector and regional economic growth.
