Alicia Eggleston joins the Utah Inland Port Authority team as community engagement manager for the grant-funded Clean Ports Program.
In this role, Alicia will help ensure residents living near the Salt Lake City Intermodal Terminal are informed, engaged and empowered to help guide Clean Ports initiatives. She will also facilitate the program’s steering committee and work with stakeholders to advance community-centered environmental goals.
“Alicia brings the right mix of policy experience, community-centered thinking and genuine care for the people most connected to this work,” said Kaitlin Felsted, UIPA’s marketing and communications director. “Her background in environmental policy and public engagement will be a strong asset as we continue working with communities to advance the Clean Ports Program.”
Alicia holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in sociology from the University of California, Merced. She previously worked as a policy advocate focused on water, climate resilience, flood mitigation, green space expansion and air quality concerns related to industrial growth.
Outside of work, Alicia enjoys hiking, reading, climbing, camping and traveling. She is currently halfway to her goal of visiting all 63 U.S. national parks.
