The Utah Inland Port Authority approved an amendment to expand the Iron Springs Project Area in Iron County, adding approximately 432 acres of industrial-zoned land in Enoch City to support business growth and infrastructure coordination in southern Utah.
The amendment incorporates Enoch City’s Research/Industrial Park-zoned properties into the project area, enabling the city to partner with the Inland Port Authority on infrastructure investment and business recruitment strategies.
“Including Enoch’s research and industrial park within the Iron Springs Project Area allows us to better coordinate infrastructure and support the businesses that are already driving growth in this community,” said Danny Stewart, associate vice president of regional project area development at UIPA. “It also positions the area to attract additional manufacturing and logistics-related investment that fits the region’s long-term economic development goals.”
The amendment would bring total acreage within the Iron Springs Project Area to just over 4,000 acres across Iron County, Cedar City, Parowan and Enoch. The project area supports multimodal transportation access, including rail service, highways and nearby airport infrastructure.
“This partnership provides another tool for our community to encourage responsible development and attract new employers to the area,” said Enoch City . “We’re focused on supporting local businesses while creating opportunities for the next generation of workers in Iron County.”
Target industries for the expanded area include light manufacturing, warehousing and corporate office development.
