Utah Inland Port Authority Board Reviews Amendment to Central Utah Agri-Park Project Area

Salt Lake City, Utah—Today, the Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) team presented to their Board on an amendment to the Central Utah Agri-Park Project Area Plan, paving the way for significant economic and infrastructure development in Juab County and beyond. The amendment adds two new zones—Dog Valley, and Ash Grove—to the existing project area, aimed at boosting regional logistics capabilities and supporting local agriculture. Also, the Nortonville zone is incorporating properties with the appropriate zoning that were initially designated for inclusion in the project area.

The enhanced Nortonville Rail Zone will add rail connectivity, while the Dog Valley Zone focuses on potential renewable energy projects. The Ash Grove Zone supports the expansion of a cement plant, expected to drive new capital investment and job creation.

“The approval of this amendment is a crucial step in our mission to drive sustainable economic growth across central Utah,” said Danny Stewart, Associate Vice President of Regional Project Area Development. “Integrating these zones not only strengthens our logistics infrastructure but also fosters greater opportunities for local businesses and residents.”

The amendment will undergo a final review by the UIPA Board in December for formal adoption. Once finalized, the expanded project area will use property tax incentives to attract high-wage jobs and support strategic infrastructure development across the six-county region.
