SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) has hired Dain Maher as a full-time analyst of geographic information systems and business after he served as a GIS consultant since July 2020. Dain will continue to support UIPA’s robust database of geographic information as well as manage a growing portfolio of strategic projects aimed at future-proofing Utah.
“I’m excited to help UIPA continue to make data-driven decisions while managing our growing portfolio of new projects,” said Maher.
Dain received his bachelor’s in geographic information systems from Brigham Young University and has over five years of experience managing geospatial systems for governmental and private sector organizations. He has supported projects for the Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA), P3+, Savage Transportation, Valor Victoria, Blu Line Designs, and Santaquin City.
Outside work, Dain enjoys spending time with his wife, Rebekah, and their cat. He’s an avid powder chaser at Alta Ski Area and cyclist on Utah’s open roads in the warmer months. Dain also has passions for railroading and old atlases.
