New executive team member brings entrepreneurial spirit, industry experience
SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) announced the hiring of Brad Andrews as its new Vice President of Business Development and executive team member.
Named an Entrepreneur of the Year by Northfront Business Alliance in 2010, Andrews has been a principal in several entrepreneurial ventures in biotech, healthcare services, and consumer products. He also has served as an advisor to start-up and emerging companies.
“The chance to combine my entrepreneur experience with the incredible opportunity at the Utah Inland Port was too irresistible,” Andrews said.
His expertise is sought by entrepreneurs to add strength in areas of management, manufacturing, regulatory, sales and marketing, and business validation. Andrews’ activities working with U.S. and foreign companies included importing and exporting products to consumers, first responders, and the military.
“Brad brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership in management and manufacturing, and we are excited to have his voice at the table,” UIPA Executive Director Jack Hedge said. “His perspective and network will be critical to the work of UIPA.”
Andrews was the founder and managing member of Provide Nutrition LC, a manufacturer and marketer of medical nutrition products. As CEO, he established Provide Nutrition’s customer base to include hospitals, nursing homes, home care companies and pharmacies in the U.S. and five foreign countries.
Prior to starting Provide Nutrition, Andrews held management positions in healthcare logistics, manufacturing, and sales and has worked in management for Fortune 100 companies such as McKesson and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
“The benefit of having the Inland Port Authority based here in Utah is a unique advantage not only for Utah companies, but also for manufacturers, distributors, and others from Denver, Kansas City, Chicago and beyond,” Andrews said. “We have the opportunity to offer expedited service to and from the west coast seaports.”
As outlined in its Strategic Business Plan, UIPA plans to expand its team to a staff of 15 by 2025 to support business development, corporate affairs and planning.
