The Twenty Wells Project Area is celebrating its one-year anniversary, marking a year of significant progress in northern Tooele County. Spanning 642 acres within Grantsville City, the project is strategically located along Utah State Route 112, providing easy access to key regional hubs like Tooele City and Interstate 80. The project area is quickly becoming a cornerstone for industrial growth and transportation connectivity in the region. The past year has seen substantial strides forward, setting the stage for success and new opportunities to this growing economic hub.
Over the past year, the project area has grown from the initial 498 acres to include the 144-acre Broken Arrow Zone, located between Highway 138 and the Ellerbeck Industrial Lead rail line. This expansion increases the availability of industrial land, offering even more opportunities for development and supporting local industries.
A major success for the Twenty Wells Project area is the approval from the Surface Transportation Board (STB) for the construction of the Savage Tooele Shortline Railroad. This rail development will significantly enhance transportation and logistics in the region, facilitating the efficient movement of goods and supporting economic growth.
In addition to infrastructure progress, the project has made significant growth in establishing its branding and identity. A new logo, reflecting the vision and goals of the Twenty Wells Project, has been introduced. This updated branding aims to create a unified identity that connects investors, businesses, and stakeholders to the region.
“Over the past year, the Twenty Wells Project Area has made incredible strides, from expanding its footprint to securing approval for the Savage Tooele Shortline Railroad,” said Stephanie Pack, an Associate Vice President with the Utah Inland Port Authority. “These achievements are transforming the area into a vital hub for industrial growth and connectivity. As we move into the next year, we remain committed to building on this momentum—enhancing infrastructure, attracting industries, and creating opportunities that will shape northern Tooele County’s economic future.”
The Twenty Wells Project Area is on track to become a key player in Tooele County’s industrial future, offering both businesses and the community long-term benefits and economic opportunities. As the project enters its second year, the focus will remain on enhancing infrastructure, attracting new industries, and creating jobs that will help shape the future of northern Tooele County.
