UIPA Approves Central Utah Agri-Park Amendment, Expanding Opportunities in Juab County and Beyond

Salt Lake City, Utah—On December 11, 2024, the Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) Board formally approved an amendment to the Central Utah Agri-Park Project Area Plan. This decision marks a pivotal step toward advancing economic and infrastructure development across Juab County and the surrounding six-county region. The amendment expands the project area from 35,000 acres to 42,820 acres, incorporating additional zones and properties to enhance regional economic opportunities.

The amendment incorporates two new zones—Dog Valley and Ash Grove—into the project area while enhancing the Nortonville Zone with additional properties. These updates aim to bolster regional logistics capabilities and strengthen local agriculture and industry.

  • Nortonville Zone: Enhancements focus on expanding rail connectivity, a critical component for efficient transportation and trade.
  • Dog Valley Zone: Positioned for potential renewable energy projects, further diversifying the area’s economic portfolio.
  • Ash Grove Zone: Supports the growth of a cement plant, poised to drive capital investment and create high-wage jobs.

“This amendment is a vital step in fulfilling our mission to foster sustainable economic growth across central Utah,” said Danny Stewart, Associate Vice President of Regional Project Area Development. “By integrating these zones, we’re not only building stronger logistics infrastructure but also opening the door to greater opportunities for local businesses and residents.”

The expanded project area will leverage property tax incentives to attract significant investment, create jobs, and support strategic infrastructure improvements. UIPA’s continued focus on regional collaboration ensures these developments will benefit communities across the central Utah region.
