Chief Risk & Compliance Officer

Amy Brown Coffin serves as the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for the Utah Inland Port Authority. She is responsible for implementing a robust, holistic compliance program and control environment that mitigates risk. Brown Coffin has always enjoyed her public sector time and feels it is an honor to serve the people of Utah.

Prior to joining the Inland Port Authority team, she worked as a manager at American Express in audit and exam, compliance, internal control, operational risk, oversight and assurance, and third-party oversight roles. Brown Coffin also worked for the State of Utah in roles at Medicaid, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Department of Community Culture, and the Department of Community & Economic Development. In addition, she taught in higher education for 10 years as an adjunct instructor.

Brown Coffin received her Master in Business Administration from Westminster College and a Master in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. She also has two bachelors of science degrees in Business Management and Information Systems from the University of Utah.

Outside of work, she serves on the Wasatch Theatre Company and has served on the Jordan Education Foundation STEM committee and Family Support Center board. When she is not working or volunteering, she enjoys teaching piano lessons, performing, gardening, hiking, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and grandkids.
