North Temple Remediation Project Area
The Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) has acquired the former North Temple Landfill, a 770-acre site on Salt Lake City’s west side, with the goal of transforming it into a hub for automated and advanced manufacturing.
The landfill, which closed in 1978, has remained largely unused due to environmental challenges. UIPA, in partnership with expert environmental and engineering firms, is undertaking an ambitious remediation and redevelopment effort to restore the site for economic development.
We're doing all of this while maintaining strict environmental and public health protections.
