
Michelle Bohnen
Emissions Inventory Analyst
Michelle Bohnen has joined the Utah Inland Port Authority as an Emissions Inventory Analyst to support the Clean Ports Program in which she will oversee the implementation of baseline emission inventory processes. Michelle will also contribute to emission reduction strategy discussions through modeling and analytical techniques with her knowledge of and experience in statistics, air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, and atmospheric studies.
Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota with a major in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management and a minor in Climatology. Michelle then graduated with a Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota with a major in Land and Atmospheric Science. Michelle served as a Research Assistant within the Biometeorology Group at the University of Minnesota for several years studying agricultural greenhouse gas emissions, such as nitrous oxide, and how to mitigate them through strategies such as bacterial inoculants and enhanced efficiency fertilizers. Michelle also served as a Teaching Assistant for a Climate Change-Physics and Myths course. Additionally, Michelle worked as an Aquatic Invasive Species Watercraft Inspector at the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.
Michelle grew up in Minnesota and has relocated to Utah for this exciting opportunity. Outside of passionately aiding environmental mitigation plans, Michelle enjoys camping, hiking, road trips, traveling, embroidery, and spending time with her cat, Earl Grey.
