Sam Steffensen

Financial Manager

Sam Steffensen, CPA is the Senior Accountant at the Utah Inland Port Authority. As a skilled financial professional, she leads month- and year-end closing processes, ensures rigorous compliance for federal grants and tax incentives, and oversees fixed assets and accounts payable. Before joining the Port, Sam spent six years at the Office of the State Auditor conducting financial audits, federal single audits, and special projects, gaining valuable insight into governmental accounting processes and systems across the state.
 

Sam is a licensed CPA who earned her Bachelor's in Accounting from Westminster University's Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business and her Master of Accounting from the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. Dedicated to supporting the next generation of professionals, she mentors an accounting or finance student each semester through Westminster's business school mentorship program and has participated in similar programs at USU and SUU, providing career-oriented guidance and feedback.

In her free time, she volunteers for an amphibian conservation group, studies Japanese language and culture, sews, cooks, and travels.
