On October 4, 2023 during a public board meeting, the Tooele Valley Project Area Draft was presented to UIPA board for the first time.

On March 26, 2024 during a public board meeting, the UIPA board unanimously approved via resolution 2024-04 the creation of the TV Public Infrastructure District (PID).

On September 12, 2025 during a public board meeting, the UIPA board approved amendment #1 of the Tooele Valley Project Area plan & budget.

The Surface Transportation Board has approved Savage Tooele Railroad Company to build and operate 11 miles of rail in Tooele County, connecting the Lakeview Business Park in Grantsville to Union Pacific. This new Utah-headquartered railroad will help avoid up to 30,000 truck trips annually by year seven, reducing emissions and improving freight efficiency.
